  • Scissors, Wire Cutters and Needlenose Pliers
  • Pin Backs, Magnets, Dowels or Mini Clothes Pins

BEE BUTTON BUG - Cut body from black felt and wings from white felt, glue body to top of wings.  Cut 4″ length of wire, bend in half, thread on two black beads, bend ends of wire into a loop and curl around beads to secure.  Glue antennea to head, glue 5/8″ black button on top and 1 3/4″ yellow button to body (overlapping slightly).  Glue three white pearl buttons to each wing.  Glue three 2″ lengths of mini rick rack to yellow button and trim.  Outline wings with Star Dust Stickles glitter glue.  Let dry.

LADYBUG BUTTON BUG – Cut body from black felt.  Cut 4″ length of wire, bend in half, thread on two red beads, bend ends of wire into a loop and curl around beads to secure.  Glue antennea to head, glue 5/8″ black button on top and 1 3/4″ red button to body (overlapping slightly).  Make dots on body with Black Diamond Stickles glitter glue.  Let dry.

DRAGONFLY BUTTON BUG – Cut wings from white felt and body from light blue felt.  Cut 4″ length of wire, bend in half, thread on two light green beads, bend ends of wire into a loop and curl around beads to secure.  Glue antennea to back of head and bogy to top of wings.  Glue seven light green pearl buttons to body and six white pearl buttons to each set of wings.  Outline wings with Star Dust Stickles glitter glue.  Let dry.

BUTTERFLY BUTTON BUG – Cut wings from pink felt and body from white felt.  Cut 4″ length of wire, bend in half, thread on two lavendar beads, bend ends of wire into a loop and curl around beads to secure.  Glue antennea to back of head and bogy to top of wings.  Glue five pink pearl buttons to body and four lavendar pearl buttons to each set of wings.  Outline wings and create swirls with Star Dust Stickles glitter glue.  Let dry.

Add a pin back to create a great gift for Mom, Grandma or your favorite Aunt.  Glue a magnet to the back to create a cute set of fridge magnets.  Glue a painted dowel to the back to create a bug-licious set of plant pokes.  Glue a mini clothes pin to the back to accent a gift bag.

The options are endless – give your kids the supplies and see what out-of-this-world bugs they think up - you’ll be surprised by what their imaginations create!
