Button Embellished Flip-Flops

Every summer I like to get a fresh new pair of flip-flops…or two, and decorate them to give them a personal touch. What better way to adorn than with buttons!

The buttons I used to decorate the straps are from the

Button Basics Bright Mix and Button Bonanza Fiesta ,

the fish buttons are from the Fun in the Sun 3D Collection.

Start with color coordinated pipe cleaners to wrap around the strap of the flip-flop and attach the buttons.

Wrap the pipe cleaner around the center point of the strap of the flip-flop and then thread a large button onto the pipe cleaner. Choose your focal shank button. For my flip-flops I used fish buttons.

Thread the pipe cleaner through the shank and then back through the large round button.

Wrap the pipe cleaner back around itself and if you want it to be extra secure twist it back down to the strap of the flip-flop and the buttons on the strap.

Be sure to bend the ends of the pipe cleaners safely between the buttons and straps.

I can’t tell you how fun these are to walk in! I guarantee they will put a smile on your face.
