Rustic Christmas Ornaments with Glitter Buttons

Holly here from Ribbons & Glue sharing with you how to make Rustic Christmas Ornaments with Glitter Buttons for your tree this year by using Hemp Cord and Pearl Buttons from Buttons Galore.

I love the feel of cozy, rustic Christmas Decor. You can find pine cones, tree branches, birdhouses and various things wrapped up in hemp cord along with lots of glitter around my house during the Holidays.

How to make Rustic Christmas Ornaments:

Adhere a ribbon loop to Styrofoam Ball using hot glue
Hot glue one end of hemp cord on to ball.
Start wrapping cord tightly around ball.
Wrap cord around ball in various directions until the foam is no longer showing
When foam ball covered, tuck and hot glue end of cord into ball.
Hot glue ribbon bow on to ribbon loop.

To add a little sparkle to my rustic Christmas Ornaments, I made glitter buttons.

How to make Glitter Buttons:

Apply DecoArt Decou-Page on to button.
Sprinkle DecoArt Glamour Dust over button.
Shake off excess glitter, let dry.
Hot glue glitter button on to bow.

So pretty! The glitter just adds a little sparkle to your cozy, rustic Christmas decor.

How about making them an elegant Bridesmaid gift box using buttons and glitter? You could even personalize the Bridesmaid gift box more by using your wedding colors or even their favorite colors.

Simple and elegant Bridesmaid Gift Box made by using buttons and glitter.

Supplies Used to make a Bridesmaid Gift Box:

Paper Mache Box
White Spray Paint
Mod Podge
Foam Brush
ClearSnap Glitter
Clearsnap Colorbox Ink
Buttons Galore and More Teal Buttons
Krylon Clear Coat Spray
Sanding Block
Hot Glue

How to make a Bridesmaid Gift Box:

Spray Paint Paper Mache Box white.
Ink randomly around edges of painted box with Colorbox ink.
Distress edges and rim of painted box using a sanding block.

Paint a layer of Mod Podge on to lid of box.
Quickly sprinkle glitter over Mod Podge, let dry.
Spray a clear coat over top of lid to seal glitter in place.

Using hot glue, add button colors of choice on top of lid.
Wrap box with coordinating ribbon.

Now that your elegant Bridesmaid gift box is made, it’s time to add something sentimental inside for them to remember your special day and how they helped you to get there. Maybe a piece of jewelry, a gift card to their favorite eatery or even an IOU for a night out on the town after your big day.
