I love to make holiday trees with buttons and Styrofoam cones. It’s such an easy project and the possibilities are endless! This year I created some merry and bright trees using brightly colored felt and buttons (and a little glitter of course!) You can make the trees in any color combination, to coordinate with your decor.
Directions to make holiday trees:
Supplies to make holiday trees:
- Styrofoam cone
- Felt
- Craft glue
- Buttons (I used Citrus Splash, my absolute FAVORITE button colors by Buttons Galore!)
- Small stick pins
- Pre-cut, adhesive backed, felt letters
- Pom Pom trim
- Styrofoam star
- Glitter -Clearsnap Fairy Dust Glitter in Sugar Shimmer
- Wood skewer
Instructions
- Glue felt to Styrofoam cone. Set aside to dry.
- Glue felt around the edge of the Styrofoam star.
- Glue buttons onto the front surface of the star.
- Squeeze glue into spaces around buttons and sprinkle glitter all over the star. Shake off excess.
- Using felt letters, spell out your message on the cone tree vertically.
- Using stick pins, attach buttons all over the cone tree.
- Glue pom pom trim around the bottom of the cone tree.
- Stick one end of wood skewer into the base of your button and glittered star. Stick the star onto the top of the tree.
I hope you make holiday trees for your home.
