Making your own Glitter Buttons is an easy DIY project that you can complete with the kids in a weekend.
My Niece and I had purchased the t-shirt first at Target (because it matched a skirt she just had to have!) then we wanted to embellish it, but could not find anything that matched the peachy-coral color perfectly.
Clear Buttons to the rescue! I selected two packages of Clear Finish, Clear Round Buttons for this project and then added a layer of Stickels Glitter Glue by Rangerin Orange Peel on top. We let the buttons dry overnight, then glued them (glitter side down) around the collar and sleeves of the t-shirt with Gem-Tac embellishing glue from Beacon in a random pattern. Let the buttons dry for several hours and you are ready to wear!
My Niece told me that Glitter Buttons would also make a great embellishments for Headbands, Notebooks and Sneakers – try this technique over the weekend with your kids and see what they come up with – you will be impressed by their creativity!
