Making cute things to keep your sewing and crafting supplies handy on your desk can be fun.
I like keeping my scissors handy and I am also a big fan of vintage scissor cozies. I thought I’d make a scissor cozy by die cutting felt, stitching it up and embellishing it with novelty buttons from the Buttons Galore Spring Value Pack.
These little thread scissors look like bunny ears and eyes when you hold them upside down.
After I die cut all the felt pieces I stitched and stuffed the parts, then glued on the grey sections.
Place a large straw in the torso and trim a slit just above the grey nose area to hold the scissors.
Glue a large white pom pom on the back.
Glue or stitch the basket button on the belly and glue the flower button to the basket button.
Stitch the arms at the shoulders and glue the paws to the basket.
The final element is a half pearl from the 28 Lilac Lane Embellishment kit Love Story glued onto the grey area for a nose.
These would make a fun gift for Easter, Mother’s Day or any sewist or crafter.
