Easy Thanksgiving Day Candle Holder Table Decor

Hello Everyone! This is Katie from the Buttons Galore & More Design Team and today I will be showing you how to make a Thanksgiving candle holder for super easy decoration for your Thanksgiving!

Making decorations for Thanksgiving Day may not be on your radar, simply because you are most likely too worried about making Thanksgiving Day dinner. However, making some type of decoration for Thanksgiving does not have to be difficult or time-consuming. To prove it, today I am going to be showing you how to make your own Thanksgiving Candle Holder!

The Thanksgiving Candle Holder that I am making today, is made from a small wooden crate that I bought at my local craft store. To decorate the crate, I used a wooden ‘’Happy Thanksgiving’’ embellishment, 28 Lilac Lane ‘’Safari Sunrise’’ Shaker Mix, and Buttons Galore & More ‘’Indian Corn’’ 3D Buttons. Now, even though the 28 Lilac Lane ‘’Safari Sunrise’’ Shaker Mix doesn’t sound like autumn, it really is perfect for autumn crafts. This is because the shaker mix contains just the right shades of gold, yellow, copper, and orange to celebrate autumn with. When this shaker mix is paired with the Indian Corn buttons, you really have a winning combination!

So, to find out how to make your own Thanksgiving Day Candle Holder, keep reading below!

Supplies to Make a Thanksgiving Candle Holder:

How to Make a Thanksgiving Candle Holder:

Step 1: Paint your small wooden crate and ‘’Happy Thanksgiving’’ embellishment. Then set them aside to dry.

Step 2: Using your favorite craft glue, glue on the ‘’Happy Thanksgiving’’ embellishment to the front of your small wooden crate. Then set the whole thing aside to dry.

Step 3: Now it’s time to decorate your small wooden crate! To do this, grab your Buttons Galore & More ‘’Indian Corn’’ 3D Buttons and cut off the shanks on the back. Once the shanks have been cut off the back, glue them to the front of your small wooden crate.

After your Indian Corn buttons have been glued on, grab your 28 Lilac Lane ‘’Safari Sunrise’’ Shaker Mix and begin gluing sequins onto your small wooden crate. When you are happy with how your wooden crate looks, set the whole thing aside to dry.

Finally, once everything has dried on your wooden crate, you are ready to add your candle!

SAFETY WARNING: You should not put an actual candle directly in the crate. The candle should already be in some type of glass container, like in my photos. Also, anytime you light a candle, it should not be left unattended whether you made the candle holder or not.

Now, if candles are not your thing, then you could always use this wooden crate to hold candy, a mini floral arrangement, or gratitude notes for your Thanksgiving.
